Heyyyy. I am very much interested in sharing with you five poems I read this week.
All of them centered on the theme of loss. Loss in different form.
The most obvious feeling with these poems is that each loss is profoundly personal.
I like that these poems did not heavily rely on grief to ferry across their thematic excellence.
The respective poets focused on language, style, and a from I agree best conveyed their emotion.
I hope you'll enjoy reading them just as much as I did.
Anvil by Adedayo Agarau
Alzheimer, or Ode to Chicken Republic by Chiwenite Onyekwelu
His Stillness by Sharon Olds
With My Father, like Scent with a Flower—IV by Ukata Edwardson
TALKING TO GRANDPA AT THE FEET OF AN ALARM by Aiyejinna Abraham O.
And that is all for this week's poetry reading and reviews. Till next week Saturday when we will discuss another set of poems.
Which of these five poems do you enjoy the most?
Don’t forget to share and invite others to subscribe to Lola's Crafts.
Ciao.
I enjoyed every single poem.
I loved the rhetorical question at the end of "With My Father...."
Those concluding lines in the "Anvil" poem.
The beauty in "The Stillness".
The whole weaving of words and imagery of the " Talking to Grandpa...."
All of these poems are so beautiful and I am so expectant for the next set.
The last one..
